Bio:
In college Judy majored in her two favorite subjects, reading and drawing, and has found this to be an endlessly useful combination over a creative career as teacher, designer, art director, artist, and illustrator.
Most of her trade book art is painted in acrylic and/or gouache, while many projects for the educational market are fun to create in digital media.
Judy's illustration has been featured in The Adobe Illustrator CS ('04) and CS2 ('06) WOW! Books. Her creative work has been recognized by Print's Regional Design Annual, Art Director's Club and Bookbuilders of Boston. Her picture book art has received favorable reviews from The Horn Book Guide, School Library Journal, Booklist, and Kirkus Reviews.
Besides illustrating books for children, Judy's art appears in other print media- magazines, greeting cards and gift wrap, and on paper partyware. And sometimes, in galleries and museum shops, when there's time to do work that isn't on assignment!
She lives with her family in Charlotte, North Carolina, land of "Carolina Blue" sky and incredibly beautiful springtime.
